Happy summer Tails!

29.06.15Trying to rescue dogs in Romania is an incredibly hard and demoralising thing to do.  Every day dogs die.  Every day more puppies get dumped.  Every day there is some new horror and every day we struggle with our limited to funds to save as many of these poor souls as we can.  It is heart wrenching and exhausting.  The thing that helps keep us going though are our happy tails.  It is seeing all the dogs that we have managed to save happy and free in their new homes that brings that glimmer of hope that keeps us going.

It also demonstrates just how impactful the work of our volunteers really is and the impact of social media.  We wanted to share some of these happy tails with you and hope that these will help motivate you to continue supporting us and help you to realise just how important your “share” and your support is.  Thanks to your support last year we were able to find forever homes for over 400 dogs.  That is 400 dogs that are now alive and happy thanks to you.  400 dogs that no longer face the anguish and terror of the shelter.  400 dogs that no longer have to worry about whether they will have food to eat tomorrow and who will no longer have to push and fight to get to the little food there is.  400 dogs that no longer have to freeze in the winter or languish in the extreme heat in summer.  These souls made it and these souls are loved.  Thanks to you.

For the most up to date news on our dogs you can visit our Facebook page.  If you can give one of these poor shelter dogs a foster or forever home please contact us. If you know anyone considering getting a dog, including a puppy, from a breeder please talk to them and try to convince them to adopt a shelter dog instead.  Buying dogs from breeders, rather than adopting a dog from a shelter, means that the shelter dog has to continue to live in terrible conditions, and in the case of puppies, old or weak dogs that often means death.  By adopting a dog from a shelter you not only save a life but you will find that these dogs do seem to understand that you have saved them and they are often especially loving and loyal as a result.  We are able to organise transport for our Romanian dogs throughout Europe, including to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Scandinavia.    Remember – adopt a stray save a life!

Here are some of their photos and we will also be setting up a Happy Tails page which we will update from time to time. We hope these photos inspire you as much as they do us!
