When we started as volunteers in public shelter 5 years ago, in 2012, we were convinced that we can make things better for the poor souls there, hundreds of dogs that had nothing at all : no veterinary care, no food, no doghouses, no castrations . Step by step, with huge efforts and great support of amazing people that were close to us day after day, we were able to raise funds for a day of sterilisation , for a day of dry food , for new doghouses in kennels, for bringing to vet a medical case or another . It was not much at first but for those dogs it was everything , more than they ever had .
Now , after thousands of sterilisations and adoptions, after 5 years of daily work for making their life and situation a little better , the situation is not much better , in the sense that the number of dogs is 3 times biger and new dogs arrive daily in public shelter. Over 1000 dogs in public shelter at the moment, half of them in our care, all of them receiving daily food and veterinary care thanks to the permanent support and efforts of ProDog Romania e.V & friends
No matter if they are here for 1 month or for 1 year , they are all waiting to be seen and saved out of the ugly shelter simply because here they will lose themselves step by step, they will lose their little trust in humans, they will lose the faith 😦
